Openleet lets you describe a service once and use the same information in your Openleet business profile and, when your plan includes a website, your Openleet-powered website.
Start with the information a customer needs to decide whether the service fits: what you do, who it is for, where it is available, what it costs, and how to take the next step.
Prepare the service name, a short summary, a fuller explanation, your pricing approach, service area, availability, and a suitable image. Only publish claims, guarantees, and credentials you can support.
Open the service library
- Sign in to the Openleet dashboard.
- Select the business you want to manage.
- Open Content from the business workspace.
- Select Services.
The service library shows totals for public services, drafts, and services with limited visibility. It also lets you search and filter the list by category or subcategory.
Add a new service
Select New service. The editor opens in Simple mode so you can create a useful page without completing every available field.
Add the service basics
Begin with:
- Title: Use the service name customers are likely to recognize.
- Slug: This becomes part of the service page address. Openleet suggests one from the title.
- Short description: Summarize the service for cards and previews.
- Language: Select the language used on the page.
A specific title such as “Residential Furnace Inspection” communicates more than “Inspection Service.” Avoid adding a city or a list of keywords unless they are genuinely part of the service name.
The short description helps visitors scan a list. The full service description should explain the service well enough for someone to understand its scope, suitability, and next step.
Categorize and identify the service
Choose a consistent Category and, when useful, a Sub-category. Add the service type, provider, or brand only when those details help customers distinguish the offer.
For example, a childcare provider might use:
- Category: Childcare
- Sub-category: Infant care
- Service type: Full-day infant childcare
- Provider: The business operating the program
Write a useful service description
Explain the service in plain language. Depending on the business, include:
- Who the service is designed for
- What is included and what is not included
- How the service normally works
- Expected duration or delivery timeframe
- Where the service is delivered
- What customers should prepare beforehand
- Any important limitations, policies, or requirements
- How customers can request information or book
Use short paragraphs, lists, and meaningful headings. Do not fill the page with repeated search phrases or unsupported claims.
Choose the correct pricing type
Openleet supports several ways to describe service pricing:
- Fixed: One defined price.
- Starting at: The minimum price when the final amount varies.
- Range: A meaningful minimum and maximum.
- Hourly: A price charged by time.
- Call for quote: The price depends on an assessment or custom scope.
- Free: No charge for the service.
Confirm the currency and, when applicable, the pricing unit. Choose the option that reflects how the business actually charges rather than entering a misleading placeholder price.
Add a main image and gallery
Use the hero image to represent the service immediately. Gallery images can show the work, environment, process, team, or completed results when you have permission to publish them.
Good service media should:
- Relate directly to the service
- Be clear and properly lit
- Avoid exposing private customer information
- Avoid showing licences, addresses, or documents containing sensitive data
- Include meaningful alternative text where requested
If you add video, provide a useful thumbnail so the service remains understandable before playback.
Choose Published or Draft
New services currently start with Published status and Public visibility.
If the information is incomplete, select Set as draft before saving. This keeps the service in the dashboard while preventing it from being presented as a finished public page.
Advanced publishing controls provide additional options:
- Public: Shown normally in eligible public sections and listings.
- Unlisted: Available through its direct address but not presented normally in lists.
- Private: Restricted from normal public access.
- Prevent search-engine indexing: Requests that search engines not index the page.
Publishing complete information makes the page available to visitors, but it does not guarantee external search rankings, indexing, citations, or AI recommendations.
When to use Advanced mode
Use Advanced mode when the additional details are accurate and helpful. You can add:
- Quality or service level
- Detailed specifications and included work
- Coverage and scope
- Benefits, supported guarantees, and key points
- Delivery timeframe and typical duration
- Current availability
- In-person, online, mobile, or other service mode
- City, province, country, and service radius
- Booking address, cancellation policy, and terms address
- Search title, search description, and publishing controls
Optional fields can remain empty. Incorrect details are less useful than a shorter, accurate page.
Define the service area carefully
If customers travel to your location, identify the location through the business profile. If your team travels to customers, describe the city, region, or radius you actually serve.
Avoid listing places where the business does not normally operate. A realistic service area helps customers decide whether they should contact you.
Add duration, availability, and booking information
Use duration for the typical service time—not a guaranteed completion time unless you can consistently meet it. Keep availability current.
Add a booking address only when it leads to the correct scheduling experience. If you use Openleet’s booking system, first confirm that the booking service, schedule, and relevant service option are active.
Search title and description
Openleet can generate default metadata from the service title, summary, and business information. Custom metadata is optional.
- Use a natural, descriptive search title.
- Summarize the service accurately in the search description.
- Avoid repeating location or service phrases unnaturally.
- Do not enter a canonical address; Openleet generates it for the published page.
Save and review the service
Select Save service when the information is ready. Openleet returns you to the service library.
Open the public page when its link is available and check it as a customer would:
Where a published service can appear
A published public service can appear in the Services section of your Openleet business profile and on its individual service page.
If your plan includes an Openleet-powered business website, the same information can also appear in its Services section. The Services feature and navigation item must be active for visitors to reach the service list through the website menu.
Placement depends on the business plan, publishing status, visibility settings, and enabled website features.
Edit an existing service
Return to Content → Services and select the service card you want to change. Edit the saved fields and select Save service again.
Review services whenever there is a change to:
- Price or pricing method
- Availability or delivery timeframe
- Service boundaries or locations
- What is included
- Booking or contact instructions
- Policies, terms, or guarantees
- Images and examples
After an important change, open the public service page and confirm that the result is correct.
Draft, limit, or delete?
Use Draft for a seasonal, temporarily unavailable, or unfinished service you may publish again. Use limited visibility only when people should reach the page in a specific way.
Delete a service only when it is no longer needed. Deleting can leave previously shared or indexed links without a destination, while a draft preserves the information for later editing.
Service management questions
