How to Add and Manage External Reputation in Openleet

External Reputation lets you show the average score and total review count currently displayed on a third-party review platform. Each source remains separate and links visitors to the original profile so they can inspect the latest information there.

This feature does not import individual reviews or combine different platforms into one Openleet rating.

1. Understand what External Reputation records

An external reputation card contains a summary of one public review source:

• the platform or source name;
• its current average score out of 5;
• its current review count;
• a link to the public review profile; and
• the date the figures were checked.

External Reputation is different from other Openleet content:

• External Reputation shows an owner-entered score and count from a named third-party source.
• Testimonials contain individual customer quotations and their attribution.
• Openleet reviews remain part of Openleet's own review experience and are not added to an external platform's figures.

Keeping these sources separate makes their origin easier for visitors to understand.

2. Open External Reputation

1. Sign in to Openleet.
2. Select the business you want to manage.
3. Open Content.
4. Choose External reputation.
5. Use Add a review source to create a new card, or edit a saved source below it.

3. Choose the correct review source

The editor currently supports:

• Google;
• Yelp;
• Facebook;
• Trustpilot;
• Tripadvisor; and
• another named source.

Choose Other source when the platform is not listed, then enter its recognizable public name. For example, you might identify an industry association or another legitimate public review directory.

A business can have one saved card for each provider. Update the existing card when a score changes instead of creating a duplicate.

4. Copy the average score and review count

Open the business's public profile on the external platform and copy the figures shown there.

Average score

Enter a score from 0 to 5. The field supports one decimal place, such as 4.8. Do not convert a percentage, ten-point score, or star category into a five-point score unless the original source itself displays that exact five-point value.

Review count

Enter the whole-number count shown on the source. Do not include testimonials, private survey responses, ratings from another platform, or reviews that have not appeared in the public count.

5. Add the public source link

Enter the complete public URL for the business's review profile. Visitors use View reviews at source to check the current information on that platform.

Before saving, test that the link:

• opens the correct business;
• is publicly accessible without your private account;
• uses an https:// or http:// address;
• does not point to a search-results page when a direct profile is available; and
• does not contain a private invitation, management, or account link.

Openleet removes URL fragments when the source is saved and presents public source links as external, no-follow links.

6. Record when you checked the figures

Set Figures checked on to the date you personally confirmed the score and count on the source. The date cannot be in the future.

Openleet recommends refreshing figures that are more than 90 days old. Older cards may show an update reminder in the dashboard, and their public checked date helps visitors understand how current the owner-entered figures are.

Checking the source does not mean changing the date alone. Confirm both the average score and review count, update them if necessary, and then save the new checked date.

7. Decide whether to show the source publicly

New sources are hidden by default. Turn on Show publicly only after verifying every field.

A public card displays:

• the source name;
• score and review count;
• the checked date;
• an owner-provided or verification label; and
• a link to the original review profile.

Ordinary owner-entered records are labelled Provided by business. Do not describe them as independently verified by Openleet. A separate Checked by Openleet label is reserved for records that have actually received that platform status.

Turning off Show publicly hides the source without deleting it. This is the safest option when figures need investigation or the external profile is temporarily unavailable.

8. Save and review the public presentation

Select Add review source or Save source, then review the saved card. Open the original source link and compare it with the saved figures once more.

Where external reputation appears

Published external reputation cards can appear on the Openleet business profile and on an eligible Openleet website. The public presentation keeps platforms separate, identifies the information as provided by the business when applicable, and links to each original source.

These owner-entered figures are displayed as ordinary HTML information. Openleet does not add them to rating structured data, which avoids presenting an owner-entered external score as an independently collected Openleet aggregate rating.

Update, hide, or remove a source

Return to Content → External reputation to manage saved cards.

• Update the score, count, and checked date after confirming the source.
• Turn off Show publicly when the information is uncertain or temporarily outdated.
• Remove the source when the profile is permanently closed, belongs to the wrong business, or should no longer be retained.

The dashboard recommends an update after 90 days, but update sooner when you know the external score or count has materially changed.

Accuracy and platform rules

External platforms control their own scores, counts, links, and terms. Their figures may change, reviews may be removed, or a profile address may be updated without notice.

Use this feature as a clearly attributed snapshot, not as a guarantee of reputation or a substitute for the original source. Do not use another business's profile, alter screenshots, suppress important context, or imply a partnership with the external platform.
