An Openleet business profile gives you one organized place to explain who your business is, what you offer, where you operate, and how customers can contact you.
You do not need to finish everything at once. Start with the essential facts, save each step, and return whenever you need to make an update.
The guided setup covers your business basics, contact methods, location or service area, and optional branding. Having this information ready will make the process faster.
Before you begin
Gather the information customers most often need:
Only add information that you are comfortable displaying publicly. Openleet profiles are intended to present business information to visitors, search engines, and other systems that access public web content. Do not enter passwords, private customer information, payment details, or other confidential material.
1. Create your profile
Sign in to the Openleet dashboard. If you have not created a business yet, select Create my free profile.
Enter two starting details:
Business name
Use the name customers recognize. Avoid adding extra keywords, locations, or promotional phrases unless they are genuinely part of the business name.
For example, use Little Moon Childcare, rather than Best Affordable Childcare and Daycare in Squamish.
Public profile address
Openleet suggests an address using your business name. It becomes part of your public Openleet URL.
For example:
openleet.com/businesses/little-moon-childcare
Keep it short, readable, and close to your business name. You can edit the suggestion before continuing. If your preferred address is already taken, use a simple, recognizable variation such as your city or service area.
Select Create profile and continue to open the guided setup.
2. Complete your business basics
The first setup step establishes the identity of your business.
Write a useful description
In two or three sentences, answer:
- What does the business provide?
- Who does it serve?
- Where does it operate?
- What is important or distinctive about its approach?
A clear description is more useful than a list of broad claims. Avoid phrases such as “best service,” “number one,” or “industry leader” unless you can support them.
Choose a category and structured business type
Select the closest primary category and business type. These fields help Openleet organize the profile consistently. Choose what the business actually is—not every search phrase you would like to appear for.
Choose how the business operates
Select the option that best describes your presence:
- Physical: customers visit a business location
- Mobile: the business travels to customers
- Online: services are primarily delivered remotely
- Hybrid: the business uses more than one of these models
Select Save and continue when the information is accurate.
3. Add contact information
Add at least one reliable way for customers to reach the business:
- Phone number
- WhatsApp number
You can also add an existing website URL. Use business contact details rather than private personal information whenever possible.
Before continuing, test phone numbers and links and check the spelling of the email address. A complete profile is not helpful if its contact information is outdated.
4. Add your location or service area
The correct fields depend on how the business operates.
For a physical business
Enter the address customers can visit. Include the city, province or state, country, and postal code when applicable.
For a mobile or service-area business
Describe the real area the business serves, such as Squamish and the Sea to Sky Corridor. Avoid listing places you do not normally serve.
For an online business
Add the country and appropriate timezone. This helps customers understand availability even when there is no public storefront.
5. Add optional branding
Branding is optional during initial setup. You can add or change it later.
- Logo: use a clear, square or nearly square version when possible
- Cover image: choose an image that represents the actual business or its work
- Slogan: keep it short and specific enough to be meaningful
Real business images are normally more informative than generic stock photography. Do not upload images, logos, or text that you do not own or have permission to use.
If your branding is not ready, skip this step and continue. Accurate information matters more than completing every visual field immediately.
6. Review and finish
The final step checks the essential information. Review the profile as a customer would:
- Is the business name correct?
- Does the description clearly explain the business?
- Is the category accurate?
- Is there a working contact method?
- Is the location or service area clear?
Finish the setup when these essentials are correct. You can edit every section later from the business workspace.
Each completed step is saved when you select Save and continue. From your dashboard, select Finish business setup to resume where you left off.
What to do after setup
Do not try to fill every Openleet module immediately. A practical next step is to add the one thing customers most need to understand.
For most businesses, that means publishing one of the following:
- A primary service
- A main product
- A restaurant or café menu item
- A completed project or case study
Give the item a clear title, a useful description, accurate availability or pricing information when appropriate, and a relevant image. One complete item is more valuable than several unfinished drafts.
After that, improve the profile gradually by adding hours, FAQs, credentials, team members, projects, articles, or other information that genuinely helps customers evaluate the business.
Keep your profile accurate
Treat the profile as a maintained business record rather than a one-time advertisement.
Review it whenever something changes, including:
- Contact details
- Opening hours
- Service areas
- Prices or availability
- Products and services
- Licences or credentials
Openleet organizes and publishes the information you provide, but it cannot guarantee placement or ranking in Google, search engines, or AI assistants. Clear, accurate, and current information makes the profile more useful wherever it is accessed.
Questions about starting a profile
Start with your business name and profile address, then complete the essentials through the guided setup.
